Craft Night : Valentine's Edition
This year, I've been eager to welcome more friends into the studio, creating moments that go beyond art – moments to truly connect, laugh, and let creativity flow.
As I kicked off the year, I mapped out a schedule, not just for work but to make room for these shared experiences. Each week brings its own flavor, from the messy wildness of wet work for a collection to the fiery passion of firing, and then the quieter magic of photography and admin work. It's a shift from the usual race against time, giving me space to dive into other passions, like hosting friends.
In tune with our upcoming collection and the love vibes of Valentine's Day, our latest gathering was all about love. I created two pieces for friends to paint—one shaped like a heart, the other a little bowl—just right for holding jewelry or whatever little treasures that make their lives special.
I'm truly amazed by the talent of my friends, and I'm beyond excited to share what we all created together.
For this gathering, I designed a welcome card/menu that detailed our activities and included some get-to-know-me questions. A hot tip: none of the questions centered around work.
Though my initial hope was to incorporate card printing into the event, the main focus ended up being on painting pottery. Even though collagraph printing didn't make it into the agenda this time, several folks took home the supplies to play and will return for a future printing session.
