Cold days call for a hot bowl of chili

We were really spoiled in Brooklyn. Everything we ever needed was at our fingertips and one click away from being delivered within the hour - food, laundry, etc. Though it feels like we were saving time we were spending a lot of money and I honestly was not satisfied or happy being fully dependent on easy apps. After the 5th day of ordering out it feels less like an experience or treat and more like a choir or disappointment.

So when our decision to move into our house began I was excited to think about all of the home cooked meals we were getting ready to make especially the ones to warm you up on a cold night. Our climate is about 10 degrees colder than when we lived in Brooklyn so nights, even in early September are chilly.

One of our first chilly night means was crock pot chili. The base recipe came from Taste and Tell Blog but I did add a few things here and there to spice it up. I highly recommend embracing the crock pot and using it regularly. Top your chili with whatever you’d like - for me I enjoy a big spoon full of sour cream and lots of cheese.
